Born in the lower east side of Manhattan, raised in Staten Island and Perth Amboy, echo started writing graffiti in the early 80′s. Since then he hasn’t stopped painting on walls and trains all over the world. He remembers spitting rhymes in the staircases of Washington Irving HS in the early 90′s. When he graduated he met a man named David Akkerman who heard him rhyme and brought him straight to D&D Studios and got him an internship. There he met Kenny Diaz(kendu), Luis Tineo(sabor), Louie Vega(phat cat), DJ Premier.
Upon signing C-RAYZ WALZ, Kings Link became a contender in the industry. Together they join a select list of MC’s and producers from NYC to Germany.
He formed a group with kendu called DBC(dead brain cells) and had a song on a Wesley Snipes movie soundtrack. Turned off by major label false promises echo moved on to continue running around the streets of Brooklyn and the Bronx doing what he did best, writing graffiti and writing rhymes.
In the late 90′s he taught himself how to tattoo because being a vandal didn’t pay well. Soon after he took a trip to Amsterdam and ended up staying for 5 years. Upon returning back to new york he opened his own tattoo shop with the help of his family and friends. He also started getting back in the studio. When he noticed most of his friends making crazy beats it seemed as if it was destined to be. Eventually kendu thought echo would make a good addition to the legendary underground group ‘House of Repz’ (a.L. Skillz, ben y blanco, jedi aka bateria, & 0ktober zero. A fan of all of the group members, echo was honored to have such an opportunity.
Being friends with A-Butta from the natural elements eventually led to the duo forming their own group as well called ‘Delta 9′. Deciding it was time to start a label,with the help of many (destro88), kendu and echo launched Kings Link Records.
